We got just a bit of a dusting of snow this evening, and Dog is going crazy over it. I swear, every winter is the same: he freaks out (with joy!) whenever he sees snow, like he's never seen it before and this is an entirely new experience for him. He wouldn't leave me alone until I let him out into the yard to roll around in it.

I've had a family tentatively book me for "the first weekend with real snow" to get pictures of their kids in the snow. Which should be fun and exciting in its own way. I just have to remember that if the kids are as excited about the snow as Dog is, to not mention that comparison. I think the parents might get offended if I compare their kids to my dog?

Ellie, I think you need to have another blues dance for the holiday. They're so much fun!

Warded to Oliver.
So, my parents wanted to know what our plans are for Christmas? Mum also wants to know about what size sweater Bailey wears. She always knitted us new sweaters for Christmas when we were little, so I think she wants to make one for her, though she didn't actually come out and say that.

Warded to Hannah.
You should come over one evening sometime soon. We can drink hot cocoa or tea or something and watch Dog go crazy over the snow. Maybe if the boys agree to be good, we could let them join in, too.

The boys, Bailey, and I usually do presents and brunch on Christmas morning, and then we split off to our families and such in the afternoon-- I don't know what your parents have planned, but mine always have a big family dinner that you're definitely welcome at if you would like to join us!

And Bailey's wearing a children's 2-3, with most of her clothes a little bit closer to the three year old's sizes-- she's fairly tall for her age!

Is there anything in particular you want for Christmas, love?

Honestly, I don't really know what my parents have planned, either. They're probably planning a meal for the whole family, but I think they're trying to figure out when us kids are all free. We usually do dinner, but Mikey just got stuck on the night shift last month, so it probably won't be dinner this year, maybe a big lunch or something.

I'll pass that on to my mum, and maybe suggest she make it a little extra long?

Oh, gosh, I hadn't even started thinking about that yet, honestly. Would it be sappy and cliché to say that all I want for Christmas is you?

What about you? Anything you want?

So maybe breakfast and presents with Bailey at the house, then lunch with your family and dinner with mine?

Not so cliche, I don't think.

I'm not sure yet- I'll have to get back to you. Oh! What do you say to a trip for a couple of nights before Christmas?

That sounds like a brilliant plan. I'll run it by my parents, to make sure that's what they were ultimately hinting at. Though now I'm thinking that by that night, neither of us will be able to move after all that food. My parents don't believe in small holiday meals.

Well if it's not cliche, then I would like you for Christmas, please. You can even put a bow on your head if it'll make you feel better about being a present.

A trip? Of course I say yes to traveling with you again! Where do you have in mind this time? Do I have to break my bikini out of the back of the closet, where it's been hiding since the weather started cooling down?

Neither do mine. And you know Charlotte- she'll want to go all out for breakfast at the house. But you know you're welcome to stay the night with us!

We can certainly do that. Any preference for the colour of the bow?

Would you be opposed to somewhere a little colder? I'm thinking of maybe renting a Swiss Chalet for a couple of nights.

Ah, a holiday blues dance! You have the best ideas, Sally! I should probably try to arrange one between Christmas and New Years, if possible. Maybe I can even try to find a live band this time. There's nothing like dancing to live music.

I vote yes on all this! And thank you, thank you, I do try.

I will have to come over and visit Dog sometime soon. It must be hilarious to watch him play in the snow. Oh yes, I guess I can visit you as well.

Aha, I knew you were only using me to get closer to my dog.

At least I'm transparent about my methods. You must give me credit for that. Honestly, who wouldn't want to get closer to your dog?

You make a good point. I suppose I might as well just accept that my dog will forever be more popular than me.

Life will be easier once you accept it. Your dog is much more popular than I am, that is for sure. Being a lecturer definitely detracts from my coolness.

That sounds perfect! I'll bring marshmallows for the cocoa.
