Warded to Oliver.
So, just so you know, my mum is the sane one in the family. She doesn't believe in arranged marriages. And neither does my dad, for that matter, but my mum's the one who's actually related to Terrence and Emil's dad, so ... there's no chance my mum would try to pull the same kind of thing their parents just did.

She and dad want to have you over for dinner sometime, by the way. I imagine dinner will be full of questions like what your intentions are with me and about your entire life from infancy through now. Then there will probably be a very embarrassing period after dinner when they'll pull out the photo albums and show you my baby pictures.

I told them I'd find out when a good time for you might be?

Warded to T & E.
On a scale of one to ten, how drunk are the two of you, after this morning's Prophet? Also, should I go shopping for black clothes to wear to funerals? Mum is appalled at your parents, if it's worth anything?

I'd almost forgotten what it was like to be between jobs. I was with the Prophet for almost two years, though, it was time for a change anyway. Plus, I've kind of always wanted to do this:

PHOTOGRAPHER FOR HIRE!

If you'd like pictures taken for anything, my schedule is currently very open to taking on any and all freelance photography jobs.

I miss seeing your smile.

I may be interested in booking a session with you, as narcissistic as it would make me feel....

We'll just have to spend time together outside of the Prophet so you can still see my smile, then.

And, hey, you can be as narcissistic as you want!

Definitely. We need to have a lunch date soon. It was so nice to see you at the dance on Friday!

And I really should have photographs taken to update my dance portfolio for clients and advertisement. Maybe it can be a good way to advertise your freelancing by using a few of the images you take? I wouldn't mind helping you that way too. I fully support your endeavor!

Oh, a lunch date would be great! And the dance was fun, it was a great idea, Ellie.

I really appreciate your support, too. I'm still looking for a "real" job, but I'm hoping the freelancing will help pay the bills until I find one. And I'd love to take pictures of you dancing!

Zero. Haven't touched a drop since I heard.

Don't know why anyone's really surprised. Not like they haven't tried it before.

I am glad to hear that! I rather fancy you, and would hate to have you taken away by an arranged marriage. But, you know, my mum's parents had her down for an arranged marriage and she defied them for my da- and they just celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.

I can do dinner with your parents, definitely. I can't imagine your pictures would be any more embarrassing than what we have at the house- our naked pictures are hung on the walls! Any time you want is good for me, really. Just let me know so I can make arrangements for Bailey.

Speaking of, have you mentioned her to them? Or should I say something?

I'm not quite the rebel my cousin is, but if my parents ever did that to me, I'm afraid I'd have to do the same as your mum and defy them for you, because I rather fancy you, too.

Okay, you win on that, just because your parents actually display your naked pictures on the walls. Mine were at least nice enough to hide them in photo albums, though that doesn't make the pictures themselves any less embarrassing. There's a picture in one of the albums of me and Jon my brother, covered head-to-toe in mud. The only way to tell which is which is because I was wearing a skirt that day.

I wanted to talk to you, before I just blurted out that my boyfriend has a daughter. I wasn't sure if you wanted to tell them yourself, or if I should tell them about her before dinner.

I have to admit that it's kind of a relief to hear that!

Haha, there are plenty of pictures of all five of us as bare as the day we were born swimming in the pond or running about the yard or whatnot. I suppose nudity in our family was fairly common, all things considered.

I suppose it just depends on how you think they'd handle it? I mean, it's no secret that I have her, and..I'm not sure. I want to be honest- and I want them to know that I'm dating you for you, not just to find a mum for my daughter or something like that, if that makes sense.

I think that the more I hear about your family, the more interesting the lot of you seem. Mum and dad wouldn't let us get away with running around completely naked, though considering that Arthur was nearly seventeen by the time Lizzie was born, there probably wouldn't be any of those pictures of all six of us anyway. So ... I think you win on that, too.

And, well, I- I don't really know. How they'd handle it, I mean. They love children, obviously, they had six of us quite a few of their own, after all. And, what you said, it makes sense, and I'm sure they'll see that. But ... I- it might be better easier better, maybe, if you were the one to tell them? I'm, well, I'm a little afraid that if I tell them ahead of time about Bailey, they might pick up on my, uh. Awkardness? With her. I don't want them to think that something's wrong. They don't know I never told them I-

I hadn't told them. About the     baby. I'd wanted to tell the   father first, and that ... I didn't have the chance. To tell him. So my parents, they don't know, either. About any of it.

Nah. It's just shit, you know?

Our kids would have been double cousins. Do purebloods really need much more of that inbreeding?

That really is ... really weird. And awkward. I'd really thought we were past those levels of inbreeding these days.

Hey ... at least it could be worse? They could have tried to set you and T up with Lizzie and me. (Please note that as I wrote that, I was gagging.)

Oh, yeah.

Hannah:
So, remember last weekend? I kind of didn't go to work from Friday through Monday, and I didn't go to the Montrose match on Saturday, and I didn't owl in sick or floo-call or give them any indication that I wasn't just skivving off work. So I kind of got fired.

I didn't really know how to work it into the conversation without being all awkward and "so, I got fired this week because I locked myself away in my bedroom all weekend and cut off contact with everybody."

So now I'm looking for a job where they won't care that my last job fired me for not showing up for four days straight, and that I up and quit the job before that without any warning or reason.

I was going to tell you, but with everything that was going on for you last week, I didn't want to dump all that on you.

What? No, absolutely not! I just- I didn't want to burden you. With what happened with your dad, and the Ministry, and I already felt like I was taking over the entire conversation with my own issues when you were going through all that, and I just ... I didn't want to toss that on top of everything else.

I was actually really hoping to have a new job before I said anything, but that part is harder than I remembered. And I just- I wrote that without thinking. I was just thinking this thing could be really helpful to get some freelance work to tide me over until I can find another job. And with the news in the Prophet about my cousins' sudden engagements, I wanted to write about pretty much anything except arranged marriage. So it just- it slipped out.

I'm not upset with you, I swear. You're my best friend, Hannah, you didn't do anything wrong, I just- I didn't want to pile this on you, on top of everything else.

I am really, really sorry I didn't say anything to you before I announced it to the world, I really am. I was an idiot. I'm the one who did something wrong here, not you.
