I just wanted to thank you. For being there for me the past two years when I've been difficult and not wanting to talk about the ~~inci--~~ miscarriage. You're my best friend, and I don't think I appreciate you nearly enough. So, thank you for being there for me even when I didn't think I wanted someone there.

I found a note from you on the floor amid pieces of what look like paper muffin liners. It seems my dog loved your muffins. Thank you for them and your thought, but I would prefer to let the 18th pass without note.

Good, because I fully intend to stay in your life, so it's good you're glad I'm in it.

I guess there's little bit of yay in there that I can focus on the important part of the quidditch matches. But, well, I've been between jobs before. It sucks, but ... well, ~~I hope~~ you're right, it ~~hopefully~~ shouldn't be too hard to get another photography job. Or at least something else in the meantime. I'm a pretty good waitress, you know.

He- he started to? I think he saw my ring, and- I think he was going to ask, but I- I left before he- could. I was just- it's so pathetic, Sally, but I was terrified of what he'd say. What he'd do.

They just questioned me and then they verified that he'd known that I was a witch so they didn't charge me and Wayne took me home and- and I'm trying to be okay, I am, I'm just-

I'm afraid I can't go see my mum again because he might be there.

It's okay, really. Isn't that what best friends are for, anyway? And, well. I- I'm doing somewhat better right now. ~~Aside from being out of a job~~ I kind of locked myself away in my room all weekend. Dog made me get up and feed him and let him out into the yard, but that was pretty much all I moved from Friday morning until mid-day Monday. I'm sorry, I should have been there for you yesterday.

Thank you, for trying. It just- it hit me so much harder this year than it did last year. I'd probably still be hiding out if not for, well. Oliver showed up, as I was letting Dog out into the yard on Monday.

And you didn't mess up. Firstly, he's your dad, so even though he's a muggle, the Ministry should've known that he knew about you being a witch. And secondly, I probably would have done the exact same thing. But, I still wish I could have been there for you, like you tried to be for me.
