A-ha! I swear I've torn the entire cottage apart looking for my journal. And where did I manage to find it? Not in the icebox, though I have found it there before, but buried under piles of stuff on my desk at work. I also found the pair of silver hoops that I thought I'd lost. And this led to people at work once again suggesting I organise this pile of mess that I call a desk. But as long as I can find everything I need eventually, what's the harm?

... oh Merlin, one of the other photographers is dressed up as Cupid and has just walked past, asking if anyone wants to see his bow and arrow. I can't decide yet if I'm amused or horrified, I'm laughing too hard!

"Cupid" aside, I love this holiday. And not just because I got the most lovely vase of flowers ever this morning and have a date with an incredibly wonderful man tonight.

You're alive!

It's okay. I haven't even lost my journal, but I've been awful at keeping in touch with anything lately. Wedding planning magazines will be the death of me.

What a coincidence, though- I have a date with a wonderful man tonight, too!

I am alive, yes! Or I was the last time I checked, anyway.

I swear, I lose track of this thing so easily. I set it down somewhere and forget where, or I set it down and other things get piled up on top of it, or Dog steals it ... but we should clearly make up for this lack of keeping in touch lately. Girly time, I think, is required.

That is an amazing coincidence!

Girly time is definitely required. I don't know if it's just romance-overload from Valentine's Day (which normally I really wouldn't mind), or too many wedding magazines, or something else entirely, but I may need you to talk me out of just asking Wayne to elope rather than deal with wedding planning.

Oh, Han. When are you available for girly time? We'll eat brownies and do our nails and read horrible magazines and I can talk you out of eloping. Unless that's what you'd really rather do

Tomorrow afternoon, I think? Or Wednesday evening, since I'm working midnight-noon on Wednesday, and I'll crash for a few hours sleep after that.

There are lists for everything, Sally! Bridesmaid's gifts and groomsmen's gifts and centerpieces and place settings and save-the-dates and thank-you cards and do's and don't's and it makes me want to tear my hair out sometimes.

I can be free either time, just let me know.

Relax, Han. Take a deep breath, let it out slowly. It'll all be okay.

Asking if you wish to see his bow and arrow? My, what a cheeky Cupid! Oh, the things I miss while I'm away at Hogwarts. It's probably for the best.

Clearly this is why you should leave that musty old castle behind and come back to us here at the Prophet, Ellie! Surely you've been surrounded by teenagers all day doing much worse!

I haven't left the Prophet entirely! It's just that nothing ever happens the two days each week I decide to do my editing.

And, by the way, I quite like teaching up here at the musty castle! The students are forced to listen to me when I go on obsessively about the difference between the objective and subjective cases for personal pronouns. It's quite unlike work, where you all just roll your eyes and walk away.
