So, I kind of went to Oliver's house this afternoon unannounced. And he was there. With his daughter, Bailey. Han, she is seriously the cutest little toddler in the world. They were having a tea party, and she had him all dressed up, and she was in this princess dress and tiara. And she invited me to join their tea party and brought out a dress and tiara for me, too.

I was doing so well at forgetting, too, but now it's like it's all I can think about and --

Why does he have to have a kid? And one so young, and so cute

I like to think there's very little that's prettier than going for a run in the snow at dusk. I wish I'd thought to bring my camera with me ... if only to get pictures of Dog stopping every few feet and trying to eat the snow on the ground and then staring up at the snow falling from the sky like he's so confused about what's happening.

He has a daughter? Who's her mother? Oh, that's not helpful, Abbott. I don't think you're supposed to forget, Sally. Maybe that sounds awful of me, but- well, isn't forgetting sort of like denial?

I'd rather forget than remember. And what's so wrong with denial? It usually works much better

Because forgetting is easy, but it doesn't help you. It'd be easy to play at denial over my mother's murder, but what would that achieve? Maybe an unfair comparison. It's like one of the therapists told me, It's maybe not something you ever get over, but you find a place to put it and let it make you stronger.

I thought I was doing fine. How do you handle it, Han?

Slowly. One day at a time. Therapy. Crying. And then just reminding myself that I'm still here, and as much as it sounds like tripe pulled from a basic psychology textbook, she'd want me to be happy. And I have you, and Wayne, to help me with that, too.

Sounds like a good night for a run and pictures. Dogs can be so cute.
